AIM Memberships

Associate: A new, FREE tier of membership to level the playing field by offering FREE access to knowledge and networks to everyone releasing music via an independent AIM Distributor Member.

Rightsholder: If you release music (i.e. own or control copyrights in music recordings), either as part of a business or as an independent artist, you can join AIM as a Rightsholder member and access our full range of benefits. Our offering of education and training, expert advice and networking opportunities, as well as access to exclusive commercial opportunities for our members, makes joining AIM an essential tool in building a successful music business.

Friends of AIM: Friends of AIM membership is your gateway to our community of independent music businesses and entrepreneurs, from the most established UK independent labels and artists to the next generation of exciting talent from across the commercial and cultural spectrums.

Distributor: AIM’s Distributor Membership reflects the strengths and needs of modern independent music distribution companies. As the approaches to the market and business models diversify, AIM offers support sector-specific priorities in key areas, such as lobbying, expert advice and connections to our membership.

AIM CONNECTED

AIM Connected is AIM’s flagship independent music business-building conference, uniting the themes of business, tech and people with a range of big-hitters, leaders and expert speakers. Usually an in-person event, AIM Connected 2021 went digital and was free to attend for any staff at AIM’s Rightsholder and Distributor members. Speakers were from AIM’s trademark TED-style ‘Strong Opinions’ format of quick-fire keynotes alongside a range of panel discussions, case studies of independent success stories, practical workshops, in-depth interviews and focussed one-on-one networking sessions with the UK's leading music business experts.

AIM Connected 2021 highlights:

AIM Sync [Virtual] 2020 

AIM’s global sync licensing conference, AIM Sync, was the first major music business conference adapted to become a virtual event in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Sync revenue is more important than ever. We responded to this need by making this deal-making event free for all existing ticketholders, as well as all members of AIM (Rightsholders, Distributors and Friends of AIM) and event partners the Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS).

Usually held at world-class arts and learning centre, the Barbican, AIM Sync hosts prominent international music supervisors in  film, gaming, TV, advertising, brands, and more. These expert speakers share insights on the current sync and brands landscape and take part in masterclasses, listening sessions, workshops and networking sessions. 

AIM Sync ticketholders submit entries for free to two informal sync awards presented at the end of the event to shine a spotlight on the use of independent music in the sync and brand landscape - ‘Independent Sync of the Year’ and ‘Music Supervisor of the Year’.
